Tentative – Reopen tennis and volleyball courts April 6th
Beginning on April 7th (weather permitting) – Sunday AM Walk On Tennis resumes from
7:00 AM on as well as Wednesday Walk On Tennis from 5:30 PM onFAST 4 Tennis (30 min lesson followed by 1 hr of match play) happens on Tuesdays beginning May 14th. Cost is $60/person for 4 weeks. Subsequent 4 week sessions will be scheduled according to participant interest.
The 3rd Thursday of each month 1:00-2:30PM Wounded Warriors from the Brockton VA Campus on courts April through October.
Beginning on May 7th Tuesdays 5:30- 7:00PM - 4 week segments “Fast 4 Tennis” - (see website for details)
In May – NET Generation Wheelchair Tennis/10 and under instruction/ clinics/workshops/ Team challenges begin – Marshfield Tennis Club (MTC) has been chosen by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to promote NET Generation throughout the community. MTC, USTA CTA will accomplish this by working with partners (Marshfield Recreation, Marshfield School District, Boys and Girls Club, South Shore YMCA). MTC has 9 certified tennis professionals, several who have experience working with non-able bodies players and 2 of which are Special Olympics certified instructors. MTC recently received a grant from USTA National which includes a junior sport wheelchair to add to the 2 sport wheelchairs already in use by the club. We will encourage parents and grandparents to get out on the courts with our 10 and under, wheelchair and adaptive tennis efforts. All adaptive/wheelchair programs are provided free to participants.
Tentative dates are:
o Saturday May 25th – USTA Net Generation Open House. Family Fun Day – Kids, brothers, sisters, moms, dads, grandparents all together on the courts to experience the “life sport of tennis”
o Saturday August 3rd – Annual MTC Fundraiser Tournament
Saturday May 18th – Wheelchair/Adaptive Net Generation Expo
Beginning on Friday May 10th through September – Masters Tennis 9:00AM – 10:30AM FREE
Once end of school year is verified our extremely popular University of Tennisology will
commence. Tentative start date – June 23 (see website for details)
Scholarships available – University of Tennisology (typically for 6 weeks)Late June MTC men will participate in the 8-week USTA League Play, which matches
up against local tennis club on South Shore and Southeastern MassachusettsSaturday August 3rd – Annual MTC Fundraiser Tournament
