Marshfield Members Travel for Tennis

As Peter Igo Park continues its transformation into a fitness and recreation complex those who will be among its most active visitors continue to amass athletic honors.

Three members of Marshfield Tennis Club (MTC) - the organization leading renovation initiatives at the Park – belong to the South Shore YMCA women’s 40 and over United States Tennis Association (USTA) team. That team is headed to Indian Wells California in October for a national competition.

MTC members Sarah Crossman, Nancy Sanborn and Jessica Rego join the team representing all of New England as it faces winners from Texas, Missouri and the northern states. The team has a successful 9-1 season playing in the summer league, which began in May. They played matches all over Massachusetts and in district competition they were undefeated.

In August they played against teams from Maine, Lyme Shores, Conn. and Enfield, Conn.. They won the final match against the previously undefeated Lymes Shores team.
